NEWS - MAY 2012
Well, we’ve finally completed the tracks for the EP!
All mastered and sounding smooth. We
think they sound great and can’t wait for the album to be completed.
We’ve got another eight
tracks to work on until get there though. But if they turn out like this
(which they will) we’ll be
very happy (All Hail The Sprigg) - and hopefully so will the Shoe Crew.
We're currently
working on Circles and Snake Charmer and it is sounding pretty epic –
we can’t wait to
unleash them on you.
The Promotional EP is being sent to the printers next week
and we expect to get a very large
box full of CDs back here in about two weeks. Hopefully you’ll be
hearing the results on your radio real soon - come on Kerrang! Get it
sorted!

In the meantime, if you fancy hearing these tracks live and loud, check
us out at the Flapper in Birmingham on Saturday 12th May for the next
NKS headline show.
Thanks

"You MUST see these boys live. They are getting bigger and better by the day. They are maturing intoa very slick and professional band indeed. With the release of their long-awaited album this summer, they are heading rapidly towards larger stages and critical success. If you have seen them live you will know what I mean." - Bex Bissell

Quick update on what’s been on happening on the NKS front...
Basically, we’ve been concentrating on getting the album and promo EP recordings sorted.
Producer Dan Sprigg, Baz and the Gospel Oak crew are working
at G.O. six or seven days
a week and it’s flat out recording, arranging, producing and mixing.
It’s a big effort all round,
working almost twelve hour shifts continually for five months, but judging
by the results we’re
getting, it’ll be worth it when the album’s finally completed...the
tracks are sounding awesome
by the way!
The plan is to get seven tracks fully completed to give us an option to get four or five that work together for our promo CD. We’ll use this to get our music put in front of some industry people and see if we get ourselves a decent deal or two! We’ll hopefully have this completed by the end of February and give our management team something to push.
All the tracks we’re recording will be on the shortlist for our album. So far, we’ve got a few defos, including: Leave Me Alone, Throwing Shapes, Hypocrite, Let’s Go Disco, Love Rocket, Smooth & Domestic. Others that look like they’re in the running are Snake Charmer, Crooks, I Know You Want It, Losing My Mind, Make Your Move & Pretty Reckless. A few more still in the frame too. Some pretty good tracks there though. Check out the Tracks page for some snippets, outtakes etc.
Our plan is to record fourteen tracks out of which twelve
will be used on the final album cut. That’s not an easy task when
we’ve got twenty five great tracks to whittle down to fourteen!
I guess whatever tracks make it to the last fourteen, there’s gonna
be someone complaining that their favourite track hasn’t made the
list – not a bad problem to have though - and there’s always
the second album!
We expect the album to be completed by the end of May, all being well.
We’ll then leave our management to get it out there and on the shelves!
We can’t wait!
The plan then is from June onwards to get on the road and
start ripping some shows across the UK and maybe beyond! We’ll be
continuing to do a few gigs over the course of the album timetable - to
keep us stage-sharp and feed the Shoe Crew!! Next gig is on 2nd March
in Birmingham Ballroom – so get that date in your diaries! Tickets
available from our online
shop.
We’ll update you all again soon. For now, get your shoes on
and check out the next few of gigs. In the meantime, we gotta think of
an album name and some cover art – any ideas!?
